Temperature controlled from minus 25 degrees F to plus 70 degrees F. For food producers, growers, caterers and cold storage operations across Louisiana. Ask for a written quote with delivery details.
A refrigerated container, a "reefer" in industry terms, is a standard shipping container with a refrigeration unit integrated into one end wall. It runs continuously or on a set schedule, circulating conditioned air through a raised aluminum T-floor so air can move beneath the stored goods.
Reefers were designed to carry perishable food by sea at a controlled temperature.
Reefers need a 460V 3-phase power connection. If your property does not have 3-phase, a diesel or natural gas generator can run the unit instead. Ask about power options when you request the quote.
| Available Sizes | 20ft & 40ft |
| Temperature Range | minus 25°F to plus 70°F |
| Power Requirement | 460V 3-phase, or generator |
| Floor Type | Aluminum T-floor, raised |
| Wall Insulation | Integral polyurethane foam |
| 20ft Interior Volume | ~1,000 cu ft |

Ask about the unit's testing, service history and warranty terms before you buy.
Before using a reefer in New Orleans, confirm the 460 volt three-phase power supply and the temperature you need.
In Baton Rouge, plan the power, the access and the maintenance for the unit.
In Lafayette, describe the product and the temperature it needs, since a reefer holds anywhere from -25°F to +70°F.
On the Northshore, keep the unit out of standing water and check the power on site.
In Lake Charles, plan the power and the circulation around the unit in the yard.
In north Louisiana, confirm the power supply, or the generator and its fuel, before delivery.
Reefer containers plug into a 460V 3-phase, 60Hz supply, the standard for commercial and industrial electrical systems. Commercial, agricultural and industrial properties may already have 3-phase power; confirm what is available at your site.
A qualified electrician can install an outlet at the reefer location. The refrigeration unit draws roughly 7 to 12 kW depending on the set temperature and the ambient conditions.
If the property has no 3-phase supply (for example a rural site, an off-grid location or a temporary event site), a diesel or natural gas generator rated for 3-phase output can run the unit. Generators can be rented from equipment rental companies.
When the ambient temperature climbs, the refrigeration unit works harder to hold its set point. Placing the reefer in shade or under a carport reduces compressor load and running costs through the hottest part of the year.
